Classification: Part Time, non-exempt, 20 hours per week

Hourly rate: $22.50-$25 per hour

About The Collaborative of the SCFD:

The Collaborative of the SCFD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization comprised of 34 arts, culture and science organizations that are funded by the SCFD, a tax district of the seven-county Denver metro area. The Collaborative of the SCFD works closely with the SCFD but is a separate entity. Members of The Collaborative pay annual dues to participate in educational outreach, marketing, peer networking and trainings and other capacity-building endeavors. The Collaborative serves the public through programs and champions the SCFD in all that we do. This unique coalition has brought together diverse organizations to work collaboratively for over 25 years.

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator reports to the Director and will assist with member management and communications as well as annually implementing the Collaborative SCFD K-12 School grantmaking process. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the educational and organizational programs that are offered by The Collaborative. This position works closely with the Director, member organizations, and small teams of grant recipient teachers in a highly collaborative environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with staff from many diverse cultural non-profits in the Denver metro area, helping to connect schools to their amazing programs!


Coordinate the implementation and facilitation of The Collaborative’s annual K-12 School Grant and other education programs

o Collaborate with education teams from member organizations to learn about new education programming in order to guide and introduce programming to school grant recipients

o Schedule meetings and travel to schools for team planning sessions

o Facilitate meetings both in-person and online and serve as the liaison between K-12 grant schools and member organizations, ensuring robust and ongoing communication.

o Coordinate and update school programs and grant budgets, track budget changes and prepare payments to organizations

o Coordinate data collection, research and program evaluation

o Work with Director to set new guidelines as needed for the grants program and to improve the grant recipient process each year

o Ensure new organizations are up-to-date in their understanding of grant guidelines and operational practices.

Support the director with member management and communications

o Maintain member organizations and school contacts; schedule and plan logistics for meetings

o Create and send monthly communications to members through Constant Contact software

o Run monthly reports from organizational database for director and accountant


The Program Coordinator is scheduled to work onsite in Lakewood during pre-determined weekdays with some schedule flexibility. Some remote work may be possible but will be determined after initial training is completed and will be dependent upon program needs; Remote work is at the discretion of the director. Travel to Denver metro area schools and organizations will be required for some meetings.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate for the Program Coordinator will:

• Be a self-starter with excellent time management skills who can prioritize tasks for multiple project deadlines

• Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to bring together differing voices and opinions

• Understand basic budgeting and accounting

• Have concise and clear writing skills, required for emails, reports, proposals, and presentations

• Have experience facilitating meetings both in person and online using video platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn various online platforms such as Salesforce, WordPress, SurveyMonkey and Constant Contact

Preferred Skills

• Design and Marketing experience

• Understanding of arts and/or science education

• Awareness of the structure, purpose and functions of the SCFD and how it is related to the Collaborative

Other Position Requirements:

• At least two years of experience working with a cultural nonprofit organization, in arts administration, with schools, educators, school districts or in a related organization

• Colorado Driver’s License and clean driving record

• Must have a car and the ability to drive to off-site locations in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Jefferson and Douglas counties; work approved mileage is reimbursed at IRS rates

• Must pass criminal background check and screening process.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer;

• Ability to drive to various school locations and attend meetings at various organizations in the Denver metro area
